It is the beginning of the second week at the new salon, Pixie & James Hair Color Studio/Salon. Week One, could not have gone better! And now, if you’re reading this in Denver, then talking about Balayage, Ombre’, Highlights, or Baby Lights may seem a bit of a stretch as these techniques are supposed to look sun-kissed! It’s about 5 degrees and snowing, but let’s hope for the sun, anyway.

Baby Lights, the newest trend in hair fashion are simply very fine highlights, mostly around the face that are very natural and mimic the sun-lightened hair you had when you were a kid. You simply can not do a Balayage or even an Ombre’ without having these lights around the hairline. It’s the difference between an okay service and a stunning result.

Baby Lights, in an all-over highlight, are a wonderful way to get the color to the root and not have dreadful regrowth. They take time and patience on both the part of you, the client, and me, the colorist, since there are lots of foils or papers involved. Be patient, enjoy a glass of wine and a snack and you’ll be incredibly happy with the results! Wishing you a great hair day! Tricia
