Hi, Dear Readers, Sorry about the lapse. The copper balayage went beautifully! We brightened up the inevitable red fading, brought lights up in the crown, and pulled some low lights through the solid-looking, front. Her hair is naturally curly and the Olaplex made the result FABULOUS! Do any of you have curly hair and want each curl to be distinctive and shiny? Have you heard of Pintura? It’s a technique similar to balayage, but for curls. Tell me about your experiences. I have naturally curly hair myself, and admittedly I use a keratin relaxer, but Ive dealt with it all my life and understand it, intimately. Pixie & James Hair Color Studio/Salon is rocking! Come see what all the fuss is about! ‘Till next time, I wish you all Great Hair Days! Tricia
Hair Color News
WooHoooo…Im so excited! I’m doing a copper to blonde Balayage at the new salon tomorrow morning. Schwarzkopf color, and Goldwell lightener, coupled with Olaplex equals a gorgeous result. The Guest came from Phoenix, where her former hair artist was great at the balayage technique. She had not had success finding a colorist with the technique here in Denver – until me! We will change that at Pixie & James Hair Color Studio. For those of you in the know, she is silver, and we will use a level 7-77 7-4 and 20 volume. She needs copper low lights through the solid ends to break them up and some lights closer to the root with the Goldwell lightener. Olaplex makes it all possible. Sweet dreams and Good Hair to all of you. Tricia
Baby Lights
It is the beginning of the second week at the new salon, Pixie & James Hair Color Studio/Salon. Week One, could not have gone better! And now, if you’re reading this in Denver, then talking about Balayage, Ombre’, Highlights, or Baby Lights may seem a bit of a stretch as these techniques are supposed to look sun-kissed! It’s about 5 degrees and snowing, but let’s hope for the sun, anyway.
Baby Lights, the newest trend in hair fashion are simply very fine highlights, mostly around the face that are very natural and mimic the sun-lightened hair you had when you were a kid. You simply can not do a Balayage or even an Ombre’ without having these lights around the hairline. It’s the difference between an okay service and a stunning result.
Baby Lights, in an all-over highlight, are a wonderful way to get the color to the root and not have dreadful regrowth. They take time and patience on both the part of you, the client, and me, the colorist, since there are lots of foils or papers involved. Be patient, enjoy a glass of wine and a snack and you’ll be incredibly happy with the results! Wishing you a great hair day! Tricia
